A good start to the day

You know the week has got of to a good start when your son is going 'muuuummm stop it' in that embarrassed child kind of way even tho he is no one to see. But the DJ on radio 2 played 'hey Mikey' and well mummy just had to dance:) Just as well he wasn't in the car when 'Spirit in the sky' was playing!

I have been making customised brooches today and looking at making a scarf for the girlfriend of a friend - grey merino with a dash of pink. I am planning to use some gorgeous yarn from www.windingtheskein.com It is a beautiful mixture of pinks and I have been looking for an excuse to put it into something.

Boy parent teacher meetings this afternoon but both doing ok in their own ways and we are starting to plan their school work for when we go sailing at the start of May. Basics basics basics...It is a great opportunity to do focused work on the building blocks of their school work so that is what we do.

We have no TV or computer games to distract on the boat, and often no wifi, but we do have an awful lot of books, which is the right thing to be saying on www.worldbookday.com . One of the great things, when sailing, is that in every marina (usually in the laundry) there is a shelf of books to exchange the ones you have finished with. A constant supply of new reading material for free!
